Exactly what to grab at the store — whole units, no guessing at "half an onion."
- 1.25 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara
- 6 hoagie rolls
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella
- Bag of chips, side
How to Make It
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, and half the parmesan; roll into 16–18 meatballs.
- Brown meatballs in a skillet, then simmer them in marinara for 15 minutes until cooked through.
- Split hoagie rolls and toast lightly.
- Fill rolls with meatballs and sauce, top with mozzarella and remaining parmesan.
- Broil 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts; serve with chips.
No-Time-For-That Tip: Simmering the meatballs in the sauce (instead of just baking them) keeps them juicy and infuses the sauce with flavor.
